The front side is designed for tummy lying and is shaped like your chest, highest where your baby’s chest and trunk lie and angled downward where his head and shoulders go. Not only does this simulate the comfort position that calms most fussy babies but it helps prevent shoulder retraction that can happen on firm and flat wedges and can lead to delayed developmental milestones.
